“Ahir” also known as “Yadav” is derived from “Abhira,” a tribe mentioned several times in inscriptions and the Hindu sacred books. “Abhira” is a Sanskrit word which means “fearless”. Ahir are present throughout the country under different community names.
The Ahir Professional Group was founded in Feb 2011. It was an awesome response from Ahir IT professionals from Ahmedabad in the first event; around 70 people met with an aim to know and get introduced to each other. Everyone present was very enthusiastic about formation of a common platform for the community professionals.
The response of first event gave us confidence and strength to organize another get together on April 22, 2012. The goal was to invite, involve and cover Ahir professionals from all industries in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, have fun and think on how to take our community to a next level. We invited all Ahir professionals for a half day picnic. It was an unbelievable response from all around; more than 200 professionals gathered with the families, we had games for kids and young guns, “Sher-o-Sayari, Bhajan & Dohas, performance and thought sharing activities and above all prizes and yummy dinner together.
The site is designed around core subject areas that include Create Strong Group, Share Knowledge, Share Job Information, Connections and Wellness. Information area features articles, blogs and guidance of expert from business minds and professionals executives who want to share their expertise and help others to develop their professional and personal lives in an online and offline community environment.
The unique feature of the website is the private network tool. Community professionals can register their profile and are then able to network with other professionals. They can allow others to view the information which they want. Typical business related information such as corporate details, career path, personal growth, hobbies, etc.
We are very eager to see all Ahir professionals on this platform, share and gain as much as we can.
